Bend testing as a test method can fully replace radiography for butt welds in ISO 9606-1. The result from the welder test is also much easier to share with the welder if the test details remain. If the test is not approved, the welder can easily see what went wrong and more easily change his welding technique. The bending tool is built to comply with the ISO 5173 standard.
